Our offered engineered lubricants for mining draglines, shovels, reduces wear rate and thus extends operting life of components.
Types of Mining Operations
Mining operations can happen underground at the surface. The type of material mined and environment dictate the type of mining required and which type of equipment to be used. Both underground and surface mining have main steps as follows:
-
Extraction operation
Such operations involves drilling, digging or blasting, in order to remove materials from the mine site.
-
Mined material handling
This involves sorting and loading of mined materials to either for the processing site or go to a waste area.
-
Mined material processing
This final stage in mining materials handling and processing; involves grinding, crushing, separating, refining, and smelting of mined ore or other materials at an off-site plant to turn them into finished products for use.
Common Types of Mining Equipment Used in Mining Industry
-
The mining industry is one of the most important components of modern society, as almost all consumer products use mined minerals.
-
Valuable minerals, such as copper, gold, iron, silver, etc., are well-known mining materials. However, many other materials on planet Earth, including minerals used in consumer products and construction projects are mined.
-
Materials quarried for construction work include sand, gypsum, gravel, limestone. These materials help construction sites to construct and erect the structural and infrastructure components required for modern life.
-
Minerals such as iron, lithium, and molybdenum are integral components of cars, computers, electronics, and other innovative products used in daily life. Gold, silver and copper are also found in industrial and consumer electronics and fine jewelry.
-
Also, energy can be obtained from mining. In some parts of the world where geothermal resources are abundant, mining can extract heat from the earth to help generate electricity for various applications.
-
Because mining is so central to modern and day to day life, manufacturing of mining equipment is also a thriving business worldwide. The mining equipment manufacturing industry offers several types of heavy mining equipment to meet the specific needs of underground or surface mining operations.
